Week 3

Will...

It only took you about three weeks to start wanting to hold your head up.  Up to this point I called you a little Monkey because your arms and legs were so long.  Whenever your mom would try to burp you your arms looked just like a little monkey...it was too cute!

But, by week three I started calling you a little Turtle because whenever you were up by someones's shoulder you already started lifting your head up and bobbling it around a bit.  We already knew you were going to be a tough guy and very strong!

Aunt Jill also came into town to visit.  You took your first boat ride out on Lake Minnetonka when she was visiting.  We knew it wouldn't take long for you to get out on that lake!

Here are some more photos of you when you were 3 weeks old!

Two Weeks and already up to the Cabin

August 21-22, 2010

Your first vacation!  Your first time up to the lake!  Your first time meeting your Great Grandmother Noni.

My favorite story about this trip was that your mom and dad were really excited about getting in the car and heading up to the cabin for a weekend!  It was a really new thing for them to travel with you so it took a lot of organization to get everything ready.  Your mom was so organized with all your things that when she got up to the cabin she had forgotten her purse and any clothes for herself.

Home Sweet Home

August 10, 2010

Welcome home Will!

On August 11th your mom and dad brought you home to Wayzata.  You didn't stay very long in the hospital, but you were eating well and healthy enough to head home!

You were such a little peanut when you came home from the hospital.  Everyone loved holding you when you were taking your naps and sleeping.  Sometimes when I look at these pictures, I just can't believe you were this small.  It wasn't too long ago but each day you are growing so much that it is so fun to look at these pictures of you when you were just a tiny baby.

Meeting cousin Parker just back fro the hospital

Parker and I wrapped you in your burrito and let you sleep in your crib.  You look so tiny!

Godspeed Little Man by cousin Laura

Here is a little movie that your cousin Laura made with pictures from when you were first born!

It's A BOY!

Will...
Your mom called me a little after 6am on August 9, 2010 and said that I had a new nephew.  It's a BOY!  I couldn't believe it and I couldn't wait to meet you.

I grabbed some coffee and breakfast for your mom and dad and came right over to the hospital.  Meeting you was one of the greatest moments of my life!

You were such a beautiful baby with your brown hair, cute nose and really great lips!  I couldn't get enough of you and just wanted to bundle you up and hold you all day long.

The first day of your life you met a lot of new people.  Everyone thought you were the most perfect thing they had ever seen.

I took a little video of you on the day you were born...your little lip smacks are my favorite sounds!

Here are some great pictures of your first day of life!

The Day Before You were Born

August 8, 2010

Will...
Your due date was August 12th but as the date got close we were all just waiting and waiting for the news about your arrival.  I was up at the cabin for the weekend, but your mom couldn't come because she had to stay close to town in case you came early.

They day before you were born, I was out on the golf course with Grampy, Uncle Parker and Great Uncle Kyle.  I got really close to getting a hole in one, but almost isn't good enough.

When we got back to the cabin after golf, Grammy told us that your mom had called and she was having contractions and heading into the hospital.  This was a very exciting night for everyone and by 6am the next morning...your mom called with the news!

Before You Were Born

Will...
I first learned that you were growing in your Mom's belly when we were downtown Minneapolis at a Technology Education conference.  I was so exited that I started to cry.

The next thing I knew, we saw our first pictures of you!  If you look close enough you can see your little face and feet in these ultrasound pictures.

Your other Auntie Jill and I threw a baby shower for you and your mom.  It was a shower that had a "Birds & the Bees" theme.  I'm sure your dad will tell you all about the Birds & the Bees sometime in the future.  But we had a lot of fun showering you and your mom with presentes before you were born.

We didn't know if you were a boy or girl, so it was fun to think about who you would be, what you would look like and if you were a boy or a girl.  Our entire family gave many opinions about what your mom and dad should name you.  I secretly knew that if you were a boy, your name would be Will.  We all really loved your Great Grandpa William and it was a no brainer to name you after him (if you were a boy).

Here are some fun pictures from the shower we gave your mom!

I love you tons!
